DIVISION OF HUMANITARIAN PACKAGES STARTED

Distribution of aid packages to the socially vulnerable population in the rural area of ​​the City Municipality of Palilula, began as announced in the village of Cokot and on the same day in the Gornje Medjurovo. 638 families in 16 villages of the municipality of Palilula will be included in this action of division of groceries, which will last until the end of November. The selection of beneficiaries of this aid, who signed the ad, according to Boban Dzunic, president of Municipality of Palilula, were determined on the basis of merit of the Red Cross in Nis and proposals of the Citizens Council. A large number of residents of Palilula is on the verge of poverty. Of the total number of people reported the Center for Social Work "Sveti Sava" in Nis, more than 67 percent are from our municipality, said the president of Municipality.

Share of the aid packages in Cokot was attended by members of the Municipal Council-Commission members for humanitarian package sharing: Zlatko Šemić, Ivica Stojanovic, Svetislav Petrovic, Milan Andrejić and secretary of the Red Cross in Nis Stojan Prokopović.

Only in Palilula where there are more than 80,000 people, the Red Cross in Nis will share 48 tons of food within this action, which will include over 2200 members of the household. According to Stojan Prokopović, aid packages, which are designed for the socially vulnerable population in rural areas, are basic groceries with eight food items: flour, beans, rice, pasta, oil, canned vegetables, luncheon meat and dried vegetables (spices).

I thank the municipality of Palilula and Red Cross organization who organized this package share, said the local Miodrag Jovanovic. In our house we have four tenants, wife and two sons, I have no income. I worked for over thirty years in the electronic industry of Nis. The factory has failed and I have not earned a right for pension. My sons are out of work. We live from agriculture a little. We're going to work on wages when there are seasonal jonbs opening. This support means a lot to us.

Today we started with the distribution of packages in Palilula. I hope we will not have any problems that were present in the municipalities of Red Cross and Pantelej, said the secretary of the Red Cross. In Palilula the preparatory period was held with a couple of meetings with the Citizens Councils, which was not the case in other municipalities. Municipal President Boban Džunić pointed out to the participants of this activity on the seriousness and responsibility of the job. The criteria are clearly defined. The packages are designed for the division, concluded Prokopović, for poor citizens, users of financial aid, sick, elderly and disabled persons over 65 years of age, and elderly and single households.
